Description
South Africa continues to face high level of inequality and poverty which leads to an increased risk for mental health conditions, and limited access to healthcare services. Approximately 1 in 6 children will live with a mental health condition at any given time in South Africa. Of these, only 25% will receive the necessary treatment.
We immerse ourselves in under-resourced communities, educate and spread awareness about ADHD and provide free mental health screening. We identify children in need of intervention and assist them in accessing the necessary community-based services as well as utilising the services of our pool of professional volunteers. We aim to remove mental health barriers to education and in doing so improve the quality of life of children and families and provide the opportunity for them to reach their full potential.
